Greek homemade ice cream like our grandparents made when we visited them in Greece. A true family favorite.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add all the cans the day before making your ice cream in the fridge so they are cold, remove and with a hand mixer, beat the vegetable whipping cream for 5 minutes until it becomes foamy and fluffy, then add slowly the sweetened milk.
  2. Now our mixture has become a thick cream, keep mixing and slowly add the evaporated milk, (at this stage you can add the cocoa powder) lowering the speed of the mixer, because the mixture starts to thin and it splatters, add the vanilla extract in the end. Pour in a large bowl and freeze in the freezer until it starts to set, Remove and beat it again with the hand mixer, until it is well foamed, for 5', at a high speed,( at this stage you can add the cookies, chocolate drops, or whatever taste you want) stir in with a spoon and add morre on top.
  3. Freeze in the freezer. Four 5 - 7 hours serve with cookies, chocolate syrup or baklava.
