Greek Christmas honey cookies / Melomakarona

Ingredients

Directions

  1. We mix the oil, cognac, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, orange zest.
  2. Add the baking powder, salt to the flour and little by little add to the mixture and mix by hand until the dough becomes soft.
  3. We cut small parts of the dough and make them the size and shape we want. Place on a baking pan that's covered with parchment paper and
  4. bake at 170 degrees for 25 minutes.
  5. As soon as we take them out of the oven, put them little by little in the warm syrup for 2 minutes
  6. After taking them out, before they cool down, put the grated walnut or if you like you could melt chocolate and cover them.
